temperature.Thiswaterheating
featuremayallowyoutoturndown
yourhouseholdwaterheaterand
saveenergyifyou’rewillingto let
thedishwasherruna littlelonger
whileitheatswatertotheproper
temperature.Forgoodwashingand
drying,theenteringwatermustbe
atleast 120°F.Topreventdish
damage,irdetwatershouldnot
exceed150°F.
Howto testwatertemperature:
Checkyourwatertemperaturewith
acandyor meatthermometer.Turn
onthehotwaterfaucetnearestthe
dishwasher.Putthethermometerin
a glassandletthewaterrun
continuouslyintothe glassuntilthe
temperaturestopsrising.If the
watertemperatureisbelow120°F.,
adjustyourwaterheater.
Helpfulhints:If outside
temperaturesareunusuallylow,or
ifyourwatertravelsalong distance
fromheatertodishwasher,youmay
needto setyourheater’sthermostat
up.If youhavenotusedhotwater
forsometime,thewaterinthe
pipeswillbecold.~rn onthehot
waterfaucetatthesinkandallowit
torun untilthewateris hot.Then
startthedishwasher.If you’ve
recentlydonelaundryor runhot
waterforshowers,giveyourwater
heatertimeto recoverbefore
operatingthedishwasher.
Helppreventspotting
witha rinseagent.
Arinseagentmakeswaterflowoff
dishesquickerthanusual-.This
lessenswaterspotting.Makes
dryingfaster,too.
Forbestdishwashing
performance,useofarinse
agentisrecommended.
Rinse
agentscomeineitherliquid
orsolidform.Yourdishwash~r’s
dispenserusestheliquidform.
Here’showtofilltherinseagent
dispenser.Unscrewthecap.Add
theliquidritiseagentuntilitjust
reachesthebottomofthelipinside
thedispenseropening.Replacethe
cap.Thedispenserautomatically
releasestherinseagentintothe
finalrinsewater.
If youaccidentiy spill:Wipe
uptherinseagentwitha damp
cloth.Don’tleavethespillinthe
dishwasher.It cankeepyour
detergentfromworking.

more),yourdetergenthastowork
harder.Detergentswithahigher
phosphatelevelwillprobablywork
better.Ifthephosphatecontentis
low(8.7%orless),you’llhaveto
useextradetergentwithhardwater.
Yourwaterdepartmentcantell
youhowhardyourwateris. So
canyourrural countyagent.Or
yourarea’swatersotiner company.
Justcallandaskthemhowmany
“grains”ofhardnessis in your
water.
Howmuchdetergentshouldyou
use?Thatdepends.Is yourwater
a
“hard”or “sofi”?Withhardwater,
youneedextradetergenttoget
dishesclean.Withsoftwater,you

needlessdetergent.
Toomuchdetergentwith sofiwater
notody wastesmoney,it canbe
harmful.It cancausea permanent
cloudinessof glassware,called
