Something Wrong with your Cooker?
Before contacting your nearest Service Centre/Installer, check the problem guide below; there may be nothing wrong
with your cooker.
Problem Check
Ignition does not work
If all burners fail to ignite:
Oven Cavity Oven Burner
Chec k that spar ks appear at the bur ners;
A cl i ck ing noi se shoul d be heard.
If not
Chec k that the plug is plugged in to a
13amp Electric socket and the supply
is switched on.
Ignitor Burner Ports
If all burners still fail to ignite
Chec k and repl ace i f necessary the 13amp fus e
If only one burner fails to ignite
Chec k that the burner i s dry and that spillage of food or
cl eani ng fl uid remains are not affecting the Igni tor or burner
ports .
Cl ean away any debri s with a dry nylon brush s uc h as an
Hotplate Burner
ol d dry toothbrush.
Hob Top
If a wire wool pad has been us ed for cl eaning around the
burner ens ur e the Igni tor is free from any str ay str ands.
Any water on the burner shoul d be dried with a cloth or
kitchen towel.
On the hotplate make sure that all burner
parts ar e c orrec tly seated
Burner Ports Ignitor
Oven Temperature seems too
Check that the temperature has been set in accordance with
high or too low
the temperature charts. It may be necess ary to i ncrease or
decrease the recommended temperature by 10 C to sui t your
taste
Oven does not cook evenly.
Chec k the temperatur e and shelf posi tion ar e as r ecommended
in the temperature charts
Chec k that the Utensi l bei ng used i n the oven allow s ufficient
ai r fl ow ar ound them.
Chec k that the cooker is level.
Hotplates are slow to boil or will
Chec k that your pans conform to the recommendati ons in
not simmer
thes e i nstr uctions.
Odour or smoke when using your new cooker
This is normal and should cease after a short period.
Condensation / Steam in the Oven After Use
Condensation and steam is a by product of cooking food
with a water content.
To help minimise always:
A) Try to avoid leaving food i n the oven to cool after bei ng cooked
B) Use a c oved Utens i l wherever poss i bl e
Condensation on the Wall at the Rear of the Cooker
Steam and/or condensation may appear from the vent at the r ear of
the appliance when using an oven, particularly when cooking foods
wi th a high water content (Such as Ov en Chips or Chick en).
This is normal and any exces s shoul d be wi ped off
